Forerunner Backup Solutions
Why is backup so important?
Imagine if your computer was stolen, your computer was caught in a
house or office fire, or your computer simply crashed and could not be
revived … would you have a form of backup in place for all of your business
data, financial records and family photos?
Having a reliable backup solution in place is very important. It is
a preventative measure. You may think, but how can I justify the cost? Just
ask yourself, can you imagine losing all your work, music, and your
precious photo memories.
Forerunner has THREE backup solutions available including:
Offsite Duplication
Clients who have Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices can duplicate their
computer’s data to our offsite Rsync server. This service should also
support any other hardware using the Rsync protocol.
At a scheduled time, convenient for the client, a backup of all
selected data, will be performed and duplicated offsite. Once an initial
‘seed’ backup has been taken, subsequent backups will only need to transfer
changed data to reduce internet costs.
FMS Backup
FMS Backup provides automated disk remote backup, disk imaging, file
level remote backup and bare metal restore for Windows servers and
workstations (PCs and laptops).
Unlike conventional file based only products, FMS Backup creates an
image of the entire system state, including operating system, business
applications, user settings, drivers and data, giving administrators the
framework to completely rebuild a downed system in a fraction of the time
it would otherwise take.
NEW Online Backup
Backup your computer system and your data with our automatic online
backup service. Feel confident knowing that your data is safely backed up
to our secure facility onsite.
Online backups are monitored 24/7. Backups will occur overnight and
our technicians will be alerted to any problems. Further reviews will be
conducted by our technicians at regular intervals.
Online backup does not require any special equipment; all you need
is an internet connection, and Forerunner takes care of the rest.

Welcome to Forerunner’s December Newsletter.
Can you believe that it is that time of year … AGAIN?! The
Christmas Pageant has been and gone, shops are all decorated, Christmas
stock is on display and the kids are counting down the days until Santa
visits with the help of Advent Calendars (I know I have one this year). I
know my niece would be if she knew what all the fuss was about … her time
will come, she is only 19 months old after all!
We have some great highlighted products this month to help
you gear up for Christmas. There is certainly something for everyone. We
also have a few great deals on laptops, so contact us to avoid missing out.
We would also like to let you know our closing dates over
Christmas. We will be closing at 5pm on Friday December 23rd,
and re-opening on Monday January 9th. But in the case of an IT
emergency, our technicians will be on call. Santa not delivering the
computer equipment you asked for does not count as an emergency I am
afraid.
And before I forget, Forerunner is selling Lions Christmas
Cakes and Puddings. All proceeds go to the Adelaide Lions Club. They are
disappearing fast, so be quick … I can tell you first hand, they taste YUM!
Forerunner is fresh out of Christmas elves this year, but we
have our very own adorable reindeer in the office.
